Factors That Affect Boiling point of water
Atmospheric pressure which is produced by weight of earth on atmosphere is defined at sea level as 1 atmosphere or 101.32 Pascals. There are natural fluctuations in air pressure, regions of high and low pressure are commonly shown as parts of weather forecast, but these variances are slight compared to the changes as we go higher up into the atmosphere. As your elevation “height above sea level” increases, the weight of the atmosphere above you decreases “since you’re now above some of it”, and so pressure also decreases.
Vapor pressure is equal to the atmospheric pressure at 100˚C in sea level, and so this is the temperature at which water boils.
As we move higher into the atmosphere and the atmospheric pressure drops, so too does the amount of vapor pressure required for a liquid to boil. Due to this, the temperature required to reach the necessary vapor becomes lower and lower as we get higher above sea level, and the liquid will therefore boil at a lower temperature.
Boiling point could also change due its material of which vessels are designed for the experiment. after experiments result shown that boil temperatures are changed at same pressure in different material. so it is tested that boiling point (temperature) varies due to its atmosphere, location, sea level and because of its properties.
Use of Boil Water
Use of boil water has a wide range. it is using in industries for different purposes i.e Boilers and steam turbines to prevent moister and applying heat, common use is in our life for cooking different type of foods, also boiled before drinking which kill most of microorganisms and bacteria. but in some cases its depend on temperature of water not just that boiled water.
there are some microorganisms and bacteria germs which is even resist against temperature, for extra precautionary purpose water should boil up to 15 minutes continuously to kill these resistant of microorganisms and bacteria.
